Stunning albums and slideshows

As the saying goes, "a picture's worth a thousand words." Pictures are what life feels like — they tell your story and bring it to life far more than words can. Openherd makes it easy to create your albums and slideshows so your photos can do the selling for you with silent beauty.

Just upload a whole folder of photos at once and your album and slideshow will automatically be created, ready to wow!

While you're busy in the show ring, showing visitors around at your farm, or starting a conversation, you can silently but powerfully promote your farm with a beautiful slideshow that's easy to put together and run.

You can even run your slideshow on a large flat panel TV by connecting your computer or with a built-in web browser!

Just browse to your Photos tab on your Openherd profile (or Openherd-hosted personal website), and click the play button on the album you want to display. Your slideshow will start and automatically cycle through all your beautiful pictures!

Synced automatically to your website!

As soon as you add an album, it will be instantly synced to your Openherd-hosted personal website. No hassles or duplicate work - just stunning albums and slideshows to draw in your visitors!

Show the world your farm

To get started creating your photo albums, simply upgrade to any paid membership plan, then go to the Photo Center to create your albums. As soon as you create your first album, a 'Photos' tab will be automatically added to your Openherd profile.

Do I need to install any software to make this work?

No. Everything on Openherd is web-based so that it can be viewed on any computer or device without the need to install special software.

What screen resolution or size is best?

The slideshow feature will automatically scale the pictures down to fit the screen they're being displayed on. However, if you upload small photos, they won't be stretched and will appear small on the screen. A minimum ideal resolution is 1280 pixels wide.

How are the albums organized?

Albums are organized according to their date, from the most recent to the oldest. When you save your album, the default date is the current date but you can change this to whatever you like.

Can I hide an album?

Yes. Just uncheck the 'Active' checkbox in 'My Albums'.

How do you run slideshows at an event?

You'll first need a computer that's connected to the internet. Navigate to your 'Photos' tab on your Openherd farm profile. Hover your mouse over the album you want to display as a slideshow and click the little play button in the lower right corner of the album thumb. To end the slideshow, click anywhere outside of the slide or hit the ESC key on your keyboard.

How do you get to the next/previous slide?

On a desktop or laptop computer, either click the arrows at the top of the slideshow, or click anywhere on the photo to go to the next photo. On touch devices, you can swipe left or right to go to the next or previous slide.
