KY Proud, gorgeous alpaca yarn
Alpaca Haven Farm of Kentucky is our piece of heaven in rural Waddy, Kentucky. We are right off of Interstate 64 between Lexington and Louisville, Kentucky, in bourbon country....near many bourbon distilleries.
We would like to share our alpaca journey with you, outline the benefits of owning alpacas, and invite you to become part of our alpaca lifestyle!
While Morgan and I were planning our retirement and researching farm locations, we met a family in Tennessee who had alpacas. We instantly fell in love with these intelligent, curious and loving animals…alpacas. They mesmerized us. Once we saw these beautiful animals, we knew that cows or goats would not do for our farm…alpacas it is! As we started our journey to sell our house in Atlanta, we found a beautiful farm in Kentucky on Earthaven Drive.
We bought our foundation herd with impressive-elite genetics. They come from a wide variety of high quality bloodlines. Of course, we bought some companion-fiber alpacas for our grand kids and we made the plunge and became part of the “alpaca lifestyle.” We are enjoying stress free days just loving life and enjoying our 18-acre alpaca farm. We do everything from feeding our animals, caring for herd health, mowing pastures, going to alpaca competitions…(and winning blue ribbons), socializing with our newly found “alpaca family and friends”, and having farm tours. I never thought I would get so excited about building barns, driving tractors, and taking care of animals.
Alpacas would be a great addition to your farm, but of course, they are herd animals so you would want at least two. Many cattle, goat and horse farms add alpacas to their farms. Alpaca lovers start their farm and buy pedigree alpacas to breed and show. Spinners and knitters buy fiber alpacas to use their fleece. Families buy pet alpacas for their kids.
We have alpacas at all price points....let us put a package together for you today or take a look at the elite-pedigree foundation herd packages we have on this site! As part of our business plan, we are in the business to sell alpacas; therefore, all reasonable offers are considered on any of our alpacas!
Some benefits of doing business with us: We mentor our clients during and after the sale, bring you and your family on-site for hands on training, invite you to come to our farm for annual shearing (you pay the shearing for your alpacas), will consider purchasing your 1st cut fiber from your alpacas, introduce you to our tax professional so you consider the tax benefits available for alpaca farmers, and we board alpacas for a small fee, if you don't have facilities or you don't have your farm ready. We consider your success as our success. We invite you to join our alpaca family!
